Zentis is Europe's number one fruit processing company and one of the leading brand manufacturers of jams, sweets, and custard-based desserts. The Company's North America operations are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Plymouth, Indiana, where we produce fruit and dairy preparations for a variety of customers including yogurt, ice cream and bakery manufacturers.   We are currently looking to recruit an HR Specialist for our Philadelphia location.  This is an in-office position.  

The HR Specialist is responsible for providing human resources services including payroll, talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, record management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, governmental compliance reporting and employee relations.  They are also responsible for collecting and analyzing information and recommending courses of action.  The HR Specialist must have the ability to identify and resolve complex problems: evaluate potential solutions; and implement those selected solutions as instructed.  

This is an Entry Level position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Production management develop plant training videos which includes videos, scripts and storyboards.
  • Has solid experience in the use of  multi-media programs such as Camtasia, Murf, Photoshop and or other multi-media platforms used to develop training and development content.
  • Familiarity with Alchemy training platform or similar program.
  • Attendance record keeping and preparation of any related employee corrective actions. 
  • Hourly workforce direct hire, and temp to hire including initial contact with applicant and scheduling interviews for hiring managers. 
  • Data cloud storage of all employee documentation to include New employee paperwork, doctor notes, policy acknowledgements, employee corrective actions, PIPs, etc. 
  • Manages employee and vendor door security access.
  • Creating monthly organizational communications that includes, that includes anniversaries, birthdays, introducing new team members and monthly Wellness information.
  • Lead the Employee Engagement effort in the Philadelphia plant and corporate offices. 
  • Responsible for covering the payroll processing function and performing it weekly when necessary.  
  • Be the back-up for the HR Manager when necessary. 
  • Responsible for conducting new hire orientations and processing of all related documents.   This includes responsibility for all support as necessary for recruitment at all levels within the organization.
    • Maintaining any changes to the documents or presentation used during New Employee Orientation.  
  • Reviewing and processing all related new hire employee documentation in the HRIS and other related systems.   
  • Supports hourly recruitment by ongoing communication with the approved temporary agencies.
  • Completes and/or coordinates background screenings and drug screens.
  • Responsible for facility visitor experiences to ensure world class overall experience at our facility.  (Visitors include but are not limited to:  Guests, Customers, Auditors, Vendors, Candidates and Zentis Employees from other locations, etc.)  
  • Plan and co-ordinate catered lunches and drinks for in office visitors in conjunction with managers.
  • To support the strategic and tactical business plans of the HR department and the company. 
  • Completes special projects as directed which includes setting timetables and schedules, conducting research: developing and organizing information and fulfilling transactions.
  • This is not a full and/or complete listing of job responsibilities.  Therefore, the HR Specialist will be responsible for other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Formal Education Required:

  • Associates degree in Business with 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources or  
  • Bachelors’ degree in Business with 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources.

Specific Experience and Key Knowledge Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with ADP or similar HRIS programs.  
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with a learning platform, Alchemy preferred. 
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with multi-media programs including voice over, Camtasia and Murf preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints with the upmost confidentiality and professionalism.
