Job Description

Full Time live-out Nanny required for a Brooklyn family with an infant (born September 2024) starting ASAP. Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for all child related duties including providing nurturing care and interacting with their son in an active, attentive and age-appropriate way.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be someone who is warm and truly loves babies! The ideal candidate is someone who is creative, shows initiative and is experienced with newborn and toddler milestones. The parents are looking to welcome their long term nanny as an extension of their family and who will partner and support them as first time parents. Someone energetic and engaged to sustain long days would be a great match for this family (both parents work outside the home). Dad travels frequently for work, so flexibility is essential for this role.

Days/times: Guaranteed 50-55 hours/week: general work hours to land between 8.00am - 6.00pm, with ability and interest to flex as needed for earlier/later days, date nights, etc. Longer days are expected when Dad travels for work.

Children: Son (born September 2024)

Conditions: $27 - $32 per hour* plus unlimited metrocard, sick/personal days, vacation (min. 3 weeks expected) and public holidays *dependent on experience and other considerations

For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:

  • A minimum of 3 years working as a part time or full time nanny
  • A well-suited demeanor for working infants and with toddlers
  • Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence

  • Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
  • An open and flexible schedule
  • Ability to complete all child related duties (including, but not limited to: meal preparation, cleaning up/tidying bedroom and play areas, laundry, researching and planning playdates and activities, etc)
  • Physical ability to navigate stairs (stoop and internal stairs)
