Description:

We are looking for an entry-level engineer for our Overland Park, Kansas office that wants to grow in a fast-paced, team-first environment that is passionate about getting into environmental consulting and making a positive impact on the environment. This individual could work on a variety of projects from environmental assessment/ monitoring to engineering/design support for solid waste and/or industrial wastewater projects. The individual will conduct assignments in an office setting and in the field.

  • Record data during field work, which could include, but not limited to: soil characteristics, lithology, groundwater or surface water data, photographs, or summaries of visual observations through photograph and written field logs in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare environmental assessment/ monitoring reports, including tabulated data, charts, graphs, sketches and/or figures.
  • Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, including: soil, air, surface water, groundwater, and landfill gas.
  • Oversee drilling activities involving, monitoring and well installation, borehole logging, well development, and sampling.
  • Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction documents.
  • Complete quality control reviews on all work product (reports, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Coordinate with CAD drafters for design plans/figures or use AutoCAD for design plans/ figures.
  • Prepare reports such as: Phase I, environmental site assessment, emission, groundwater, and compliance reporting.
  • Prepare permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation as requested.
  • Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents as requested.
  • Assist in training Environmental Field Technicians and Technical Associates.
  • Prepare short form site specific health and safety plans.
  • Participate in health and safety training.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
  • Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Basic knowledge in AutoCAD required
  • Basic knowledge in Civil 3D preferred but required
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
