Job Summary: The Controller manages financial records, leads accounting initiatives, ensures compliance, and advises ownership on financial strategies. Responsibilities include overseeing accounting operations, forecasting revenue, analyzing data, and coordinating audits to drive financial growth and support organizational goals.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and manage monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Oversee the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
• Ensure correct classification of expenses and maintain control over accounting transactions.
• Lead the accounting department structure, processes, and staff.
• Support AR, AP, and income tax preparation.
• Execute Safe Way’s financial strategy and drive growth while managing expenses.
• Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
• Manage cost accounting, profitability analysis, inventory valuation, and reconciliation.
• Deliver financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting to support decision-making.
• Contribute to budgeting, planning, and strategic business decisions, including acquisitions and capital investments.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and audit recommendations.

What You’ll Need:

• 6+ years of accounting experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or cost accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
• CPA or CMA designation preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong financial management skills.
• Experience with Syspro ERP is a plus.
• Strong strategic planning abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of advanced accounting and regulatory standards.
• High integrity, dependability, and results-driven.
• 3+ years of controller experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
